When it comes to building back links it can be tedious at best, that’s why if you choose to go down this road and build back links to your webpages to drive traffic and increase your Google rankings, you  must adopt the right strategies.

If you’re not already aware Google is continually trying to get the jump on us marketers, the recent changes it has made to its algorithms has literally wiped out tens of thousands of online web businesses, virtually overnight! Although no one outside Google knows 100% what they are looking for, none of my websites ranking were adversely affected.

Here are some of the technique and strategies I use when building my back links using article marketing.

This is how it will look on the page: Mark Harvey It will be a different colour to the rest of the text and underlined. Using keyword anchor text enables the search engines to relate a keyword or phrase to an applicable website. If someone searches for mark harvey then the website http://markhavreyuk.com will pop up as being applicable to that keyword. The more back links to your site the more relevant it will be in the eyes of the search engines. This is basically how Search Engine Optimization works.

• 3. Don’t always link back to the same page, a percentage of your links should link back to internal pages or posts within your website, then link back to the page you want to rank.

• 4. Point some of your links back to high Page Ranking site such as YouTube and Ezine articles, when you post a video or an article they are given a unique URL, put those URL’s in your anchor text, I.E. <a href=”http://youtube.com/marksvideo”>Mark Harvey<a/>

I know this sound a little complicated, let me clarify: Your original article post on your website will link to the URL of your video on YouTube or your article in Ezine as above, then both of those will have links pointing back to you website as in example 3. • 5. Vary your keywords, for example instead of using “mark harvey” use “m harvey” or “mark”

• 6. 10% of your back links should be the URL of the page you want to rank, IE http://markharveyuk.com

• 7. Try to build back links from varied PR site, High PR 6-7 and important but so are links coming from PR 0 sites.

• 8. Use “click here” or “read here” etc… As a percentage of your keyword anchor text, IE. <a href=”http://markhavreyuk.com”>click here<a/>
